A fourth-generation North Central Washington resident, Senator Parlette is a registered pharmacist and orchardist in addition to serving in the state Senate. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1996, Senator Parlette served two terms in the House before being elected to the Senate in 2000. She was re-elected to her fourth four-year term in 2012.

Senator Parlette has served since 2006 as Caucus Chair, the number two leadership position of the Majority Coalition Caucus. She is a member of the Senate Health Care; Ways and Means; and Rules Committees.

Her legislative priorities include being a passionate advocate for the people and interests of the 12th Legislative District; providing an office focused on customer service; and building consensus by working with legislators from both sides of the aisle.
